Quotes

“The performances of Eco del Sur flow naturally with a spontaneous energy, the goals of the band seem almost academic in nature. The band seeks to educate interested audiences, giving brief explanations about their colorful instruments and talking about the origins of their tunes”

Jamie Bunce, U.S. 1 Newspaper, NJ

“ … a beautiful collection of songs, instrumentals and general melodies that truly reflect the music of the region.”

Steve Bernardini, Educator, Bucks County, PA

Thank you for a wonderful program yesterday.  The feedback I have received has been UNANIMOUS - beautiful!!  Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful, and I hope we can work together in the future.

Jean M. Kaleda, Patchogue-Medford Library

Eco del Sur performed for 125 people at Elizabeth Public Library. They were gracious, talented, and shared information about culture as well as the instruments and sound that make the unique Andean music. Very educational as well as a pleasure to hear. You are a gifted musician—thank you for sharing your talent with us!

Monica F. Eppinger, Elizabeth Public Library

A MUSICAL DAY AND NIGHT WITH ECO DEL SUR

We were so pleased to have multicultural musical ensemble Eco del Sur come to campus last week to lead students in hands-on workshops during the school day and to treat families to an Andean and Latin American folk music concert that night. Eco Del Sur plays authentic Andean music with a variety of traditional instruments originated during the Pre-Columbian times in combination with the stringed instruments influenced by the Spanish conquistadors. Students practiced their Spanish in naming each instrument, and learning where the instruments originated, and even joined the band during their performances!

Laura Taylor, Media-Providence Friends School

Your group is truly talented! We heard such great feedback from the community, and we thank you for playing at Latino Fest!

Long Branch Free Public Library

I was at your performance at Musikfest in Bethlehem on 8/5/2013.  My first thought was: "It's probably just a typical Andes group, but I'm tired so I'll rest my feet."  I was plesantly suprised.  Eco del Sur is certainly not just "another Andes group". Your music is well-crafted and from the heart...totally enjoyable. I sensed your love of the music and of the audience. Keep up the good work.

J. M. Casteline

Thank you for your outstanding performance at the Monroe Township (NJ) Senior Center on Monday, March 4, 2024.  As a group, and as individuals, you were terrific. I can’t wait until Eco Del Sur returns.  Again, many, many thanks.

            Mark Schiffman

We will really appreciate this group traveling far to perform at our ceremony. We had a really specific song request at rather short notice and they were accommodating and asked questions to make sure it went well. Their singing was beautiful and many in attendance commented on how moved they were.
